Greetings members of the White Lotus! Ho Ho Happy Tea Tuesday!
It's the week before Christmas and all through the house, you're bored as all heck. So, let's check some movies out!
Also, I know it's not morning. But the gif is cute. Anywho, this is my top 10 list of favorite Christmas movies I like to watch, whether at home with my family and friends or just chilling by myself. This is not in any particular order but with a few explanations why they're my favorites.
1) Polar Express
This movie for me is pure nostalgia. Elementary school pajama movie night with hot cocoa and the best of friends. And the music is lit. You can't tell me that "Hot Chocolate" isn't a stand-alone bop.
2) The Nightmare Before Christmas
Three words: Double holiday feature. This movie is Halloween and Christmas wrapped up in red and green with a black bow on top. I am here for spoopy Christmas cheer. And the songs: all bops. The score: gorgeous. The claymation: phenomenal. Overall, just wonderful.
3) The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause
Yes, The third one and the third one only. It's the best one in the trilogy hands down. That's it.
4) A Miser Brother's Christmas
This lovely claymation is a favorite of mine and my brother's. We watched it together for the first time on ABC Family (now known as Freeform). We still sing as Heat Miser and Snow Miser together. We're too much!
5) Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
Jim Carrey as the Grinch is a whole vibe and nothing but a vibe. It's a cult favorite especially for my friend Mason who quotes it more often than not. His favorite line: "But what will I wear?"
6) Rise of the Guardians
Okay, technically not a Christmas movie but Santa is in it. And Jack Frost too, so we're gonna count it. Plus, c'mon, Hugh Jackman is the Easter Bunny! It's amazing.
7) Disney's A Christmas Carol
What can I say? I love spoopy Christmas vibes and Jim Carrey! The animation in this movie is gorgeous and the voice acting is wonderful. Plus the comedic timing to an overall serious film is great.
8) Barbie in the Nutcracker
I grew up with this movie on the VHS. Even though the animation hasn't held up the best, it was perfect for its' time. I like to revisit it during the holidays and feel like a little girl again. A lovely classic come to life.
9) Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey
This one is a new release on Netflix that my family and I absolutely love! It's so colorful, so full of life, and the costumes are gorgeous! Afro-Victorian is so beautiful and looks amazing on this star-studded cast. And what a cast it is! The music is wonderful as well. If you haven't watched it yet, go watch it now!
Okay, this one is scary but kinda good. If you like a good chill down your spine this Christmas as my brother does, this is the Christmas movie for you. Santa's not the only one coming this year. No gif for this one because I honestly can't find a good one.
Hope y'all enjoy this list! Sip Savory and Spill Responsibly!
